I had a reservation to stay at Hardwar Gap for the night, previously thinking that I would need the extra full day to look for Jamaican Blackbird and Crested Quail-Dove, which I decided to honor. I told her that I had three target birds left to see, and she gestured at a tree near the guesthouse where three Jamaican Owls were roosting.

Rambling

I am writing (hopefully, by the time this posts, have written) on the odd confluence of good birding territory and historic gay cruising zones. The subject begs for facile metaphors and easy comparisons, and rejecting such is one of my favorite hobbies after birding itself. I applaud responsibility, but please don’t litter.)

Foster to Fish Creek

I have become very familiar with the birds along the trail. One of the most common birds that I have encountered is the Eastern Yellow Robin. Grey Fantails are also another very common bird in the area and you are guaranteed to see them on this section of the trail. Fish Creek train station building. White-necked Heron.
