Feral Pigeons World Wide

10,000 Birds

On a parking lot, I pass by an invisible bird and continue to my local patch of the Ada Huja Danube Riverbank , where my first bird becomes the Rook. Ornithology, as well as birding, deals with wild birds. While my invisible bird didn’t exactly walked out of a henhouse, it almost did. The one I do not count.

Feral Cats Are An Invasive Species in North America (and elsewhere)

10,000 Birds

That was a wild cat, a wild Wildcat, the cat that lives in the wild because that is where it is from and where it belongs, at the southern end of its pan-African range that extended at one time well into Europe and Asia. Body-building finches.

10,000 Birds

There I found a study which showed that the ingenious little birds had found a protein source that allowed them to coincide their breeding with times of man-made, rather than natural seasonal abundance. They are popular as caged birds and escapees have established a number of feral populations beyond their normal ranges.

The Rose-ringed Parakeets of Heidelberg

10,000 Birds

The Rose-ringed Parakeet naturally occurs in two isolated areas: a thin strip across Africa just south of the Sahara, and south Asia where it is mostly found in India with smaller ranges in adjacent countries. This is what happens when people choose their pet birds on visual factors alone without taking vocalizations into account.
