I have been rescuing animals, both wild and domestic, since I was a child. Can your hearts be so species-specific? It’s so much easier to delete a picture than to end the life of a mortally wounded cat-caught bird, like this Downy Woodpecker … who is alive, but not for long. It sickens me. It’s natural.”).

All of the animals, birds and reptiles who live there are native species who were once injured, have gone through rehabilitation, and ended up with a permanent disability which prevented their return to the wild. The man arrived at the zoo with bloody puncture wounds up and down both arms. I live near a small zoo.

The animal protection group Seal Sitters says a necropsy showed that the sea lion had suffered a shark bite and had twisted intestines in addition to a bullet wound.
