As lovely as the Sage Grouse were, our trip had another primary mission — to see the amazing, highly endangered black-footed ferret. Ferret 492 — a black-footed ferret, Mustela nigripes — raises her head from a black-tailed prairie dog’s burrow, sniffs the April night. Not Ferret 492, though.

As the name suggests, they rescue rabbits, but they also rescue other small animals like ferrets, and other small rodents. The structures will be small so we don’t disturb the trees or our resident wildlife (raccoons, deer, owls, cottontail rabbits, etc.) Tags: rescue spotlight ferret rabbit rescue rodent.

People have moved useful plants and animals around with them as long as they had the wit to do so. So that New Zealand would end up with quite a few species of animal not originally found here is hardly surprising of itself. Possums still strip our native forests, ferrets and stoats and possums still devastate our native birds.
