Was hiking through the southern Japanes Alps today (near Fuji) and ran into these tracks and droppings a few times. I was curious to which animal they belonged. The paw prints scream bear to me, but the droppings seemed to small (they were maybe 50cm away from each other).

Late last month, while searching for bears , woodpeckers and spirits of Greece, I deliberately avoided checking any news, especially from my home country. The animal slowly walked away from us, stopping every now and then to check on our behaviour. Every now and then, I need to cut the world off and clear my mind.
