I live in Seattle and, while I don't always agree with PETA, I hate the UW's animal research practices. I don't believe these animals get the quality of care they deserve for the suffering they undergo. If you "humanize" the animal and grow attached, how can you conduct experiments on it?

This became clear from a report addressed at the European Parliament (EP) session on May 5–7, which seeks to vote on a directive concerning animal research. My personal philosophy is that millions of animals shouldn't suffer on anyone's behalf, especially when they do so against their will. I really hope this passes.

These highly intelligent animals should be PERMANENTLY retired and a PERMANENT sanctuary created for them. This is a matter of human compassion to prevent the further suffering of animals that have already served this species in prior experiments. By the end of my time as researcher, I was performing behavioral experiments on humans.
