I certainly can’t wait for 21 January 2015! Who knows what great birds 2015 will bring? Oh, and I’ll make sure to harass Jeff Gordon about why Green Heron wasn’t chosen as the 2015 American Birding Association Bird of the Year. Ditto for the feral Muscovy Ducks , though they are a bit less nice.

Best Bird of the Weekend (Last of October 2015)

Birding the Eshowe area, South Africa

As usual, my experience with such boardwalks was somewhat underwhelming, as was Eshowe as a whole, but there were still a few birds worth mentioning at the forest and in the area surrounding Eshowe. These two Hadada Ibis are reenacting the mirror scene from “Duck soup” (sort of).
