I didn’t know much about Birds of Paradise either before 2013, when I accompanied a non-birding friend to a presentation at a local college, not really expecting much. The speaker turned out to be Tim Laman, and the topic was the incredible research he and Ed Scholes had spent years doing on birds of paradise in New Guinea.

The Bibliography lists 677 articles and books, mostly articles, from ornithological literature, a record of the research that went into this volume. of Texas Press in 2013 (I haven’t examined either title).
