The road went past some ruins that had been abandoned by the town people some 100 years ago and it followed the river gorge for 10 km on its way down to the Amazon. Oh well, I guess we don’t have much to worry about since today is the end of the world on May 21st of 2011.

Through intensive conservation management however, this downwards trend was halted and the population stabilized at more or less 100 bustards until 2011. Walk to a small abandoned farm and keep on along the track, crossing a small canal via a small bridge (don’t worry about the gate) just after the farm.
