I can’t even imagine being in a position where my government was telling me to kill my dog, or have it beaten to death. Dog owners in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, are even being told to kill their own dogs, or else their dogs will be beaten to death by the police and the owners will be charged a fine.

Investigative journalism by the Salt Lake Tribune, following-up on allegations levelled by PETA against the University of Utah's Comparative Medicine Center and the Cardiovascular Research & Training Institute laboratories revealed the two laboratories had used 190 dogs and cats in 2009, all obtained from shelters.

This is Los Angeles’s premier animal-related fundraising event benefiting the following non-profit rescue organizations: The Rescue Train, Best Friends Animal Society, Animal Alliance, A Dog’s Life Rescue, Stray Cat Alliance, Four-Legged Friends Foundation, and Molly’s Mutts & Meows.

So, this pair (I assume there are two, though I only saw one today) of eagles has a territory including small dogs and stray children, baby coyotes, crows, but mainly squirrels and marmots right around its nest, and a major river backed up by a large dam about a mile or two away (the Mississippi) and several lakes.
