They were nice enough to send us personalized frames for our dog and bird. Another thing we love about Etched In My Heart is that they donate part of their proceeds to The PetSave Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Bona Tucker in June 2000 as a rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption resource for domestic rabbits, cats and dogs.

They are two dogs that once needed to be adopted. They eventually were (in 2007, I believe. Someone told us it involved Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue. We are once again getting a lot of hits over the saga of Cookie and Coco. But, the story won't die. You can read about our coverage of it here. Or at least a version of it.

To the Editor: “ My Dog Days ,” by Arthur Phillips (Op-Ed, June 10), gave me those warm, fuzzy feelings and made my eyes tear. There are puppies with puppy breath and slobbery kisses; young dogs with enthusiasm, devotion and intelligence; older dogs with patience, loyalty and wisdom. June 11, 2007 Note from KBJ: I concur.

To the Editor: The euthanasia of more than 1,000 dogs and cats at the main animal shelter in Las Vegas is surely a major tragedy in the sheltering field (news article , Feb. 16), and the rapid spread of diseases at a facility packed with 1,800 animals required swift action to prevent even more suffering and loss of life.
