Kitten Rescue is a wonderful animal rescue organization! Founded in 1997, it has become one of the largest animal rescue groups in Los Angeles. Kitten Rescue volunteers place approximately 1,000 cats and kittens into new homes every year. Kitten Rescue’s goal is to help Los Angeles become a no-kill city.

If that means volunteering at a dog rescue or giving money to PETA, all while eating and using animals, at least you’re doing something. But I’m merely making his point. Animals rescued from so-called humane farming establishments have been found in horrific condition. In my 40s, I became a vegetarian because I was saving sick and injured birds, and I just couldn’t eat them and save them. Would we say these people were slaughtered in a “people friendly” manner?
