It seems that quite a few zoos keep Tawny Frogmouths. When these birds breed, this can lead to highly cringeworthy announcements, for example from Adelaide Zoo : “We have egg-citing news!” They just sit and pretend not to be there to avoid interaction.” Just please do not return to this website afterward.

We have photographs and newspaper obituaries of Martha, the last living Passenger Pigeon, who died after a lifetime in captivity, mostly in the Cincinnati Zoo. This bit of science is a nice final counterpoint to an account that has emphasized art, history, and literature. We have a lot of source material. Or spend enough money.
