The ginuea pig cages are small with very little toys same with the rat cages. They also sometimes house rats and Guinea pigs alone wich will cause depression. The reptile care is horrible with the humidity levels being too low and they house chameleons together. Hamsters also need to be housed alone and need around 3ft of space.

Not only do we take care of zillions of injured and orphaned birds/mammals/reptiles/whatever, we also have to deal with and educate the public. Probably because people see so many Red-tails taking down pigs.”. “At Wildlife rehabilitators are a multi-tasking lot. The baffling, mind-boggling public. Poor thing was hyperglycemic.”.

It seems that these people, who purport to claim to care so much about animals, are completely ignorant of the existence of any animal life beyond horses, cows, pigs, chickens and turkeys. What I don’t understand is why animal rights organizations almost completely ignore wildlife. There is nothing abstract or controversial about this.

One the reptile front a small Lace Monitor high up a tree was a pretty cool spot. And one final treat was a Musky Rat-kangaroo , the smallest member of the macropod (kangaroo and wallaby) suborder, no bigger than a guinea-pig. I set off on the trail around the lake, which was refreshingly cool considering the location.
