Now animal shelters have the right to refuse to release animals to the University of Utah for animal research. Davis County Animal Shelter, a key supplier to the University of Utah, has already ceased this practice. I wish the whole practice had been outlawed, but at least now shelters can respond to public pressure.

Brief commentary follows this e-mail I received regarding greyhounds, animal rights and Ireland. Every day myself and other 'friends' went out of our way to terrify the poor helpless dog that used to live in this filthy run down shed for shelter. They don't say: you want protection and I want rights, so I want nothing to do with you.
