Almost immediately I saw, very briefly, my only Double-eyed Fig-parrot of the trip, and heard a Leaden Flycatcher and some Blue-winged Kookaburras. The highlight of the night was a Striped Possum, a large squirrel sized possum with black and white striped fur. Amazingly, the day wasn’t even over at this point.As

One final surprise was a Green Ringtail , an endemic possum. And one final treat was a Musky Rat-kangaroo , the smallest member of the macropod (kangaroo and wallaby) suborder, no bigger than a guinea-pig. Red-winged Parrot ( Aprosmictus erythropterus ) by Michael Jefferies (CC) a. They are usually pretty hard to see.
