It sure looks like India is taking wildlife crime investigation seriously. In its first ever independent operation since its inception last year, the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau has unearthed an illegal pet trade racket arresting one and seizing four live Indian Tent turtles from Mahipalpur area here.

This hard-to-spot, large seabird is distinguished from the Brown Booby by its yellowish bill. The Tortugas are the only known continental US nesting spots for these guys. Masked Booby. Brown Booby. On April 20th 2010, the world received news that eleven men working on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig died in an explosion on the BP-operated Macondo Prospect. June 2, 2010 BP apparently bans workers from showing dead or dying wildlife and from talking to the press. We documented the relocation of several turtle nests.

From Vietnam News. Dr Scott Roberton, head of Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), said that hunting wild animals for meat and trafficking had been happening in many countries, especially developing ones. Among them, stag and wild boar accounted for around 70 per cent of the consumed meat, followed by turtle, snake, fox and porcupine.

A man in Toronto with 13 prior wildlife crime convictions will serve time after being busted with “a plethora” of poached wildlife. Repeat offender Chung was found this time with what is described as “a plethora of wildlife, alive, dead, and quartered.” Tags: wildlife crime canada poaching turtles.

New England Reptile Distributers just released a video explaining a terrible incident involving the FWC (Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission). If the FWC killed 35 tortoises on video, it would be on mainstream news. The man who owned the snakes, Chris Coffee, had legally possessed them for years.
