The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit recently heard arguments in National Meat Association v. Brown, a case in which the meat industry is attempting to invalidate a California law designed to reduce animal suffering and protect public safety. Did anyone know this was going on?

One of the major challenges in combating the bushmeat trade is identifying the source species for the meat and products. Once an animal has been carved up, meat looks like meat and leather looks like leather. How is anyone to know if it came from a species that is protected under national or international law?

On March 11th, RPA sent the governors of all 50 states a letter and two factsheets urging them to help get their land-grant universities (LGUs) out of the meat industry. Take a moment to tell your governor you agree we must get our LGUs out of the meat industry. Many say you can’t eat meat and be an environmentalist.

The RSPCA are trying to raise awareness of its urgent campaign to protect the welfare of UK meat chickens. Tags: news. Right now, the UK government is considering new EU legislation that may increase the number of chickens allowed in rearing sheds. It’s hard to walk or even flap their wings.

4, 2008 by the Environmental Protection Agency to charge a fee for air-polluting cows and hogs. This country needs to eat less meat. Tags: global warming methane cows us agribusiness. I don't know how seriously to take this, or if it's just the ag industry pulling an NRA stunt (ie. knee-jerk reaction to anything and everything.)
