They’re all named for livestock. Asides Win a Copy of Hawks at a Distance Utah Birders has a copy of Hawks at a Distance to give away. It didn’t take much imagination to name Cowbirds or Cattle Egrets or Cattle Tyrants , but there’s more fantasy, even more wit, involved in the naming of other bovine birds.

Even the brewery’s spent grains, once shoveled out of the mash tun, are hauled off to a local farm as livestock feed. The Ogden Nature Center of Ogden, Utah will feature its second annual Birds & Brews event on September 29th. A Great Horned Owl , the most expected owl species in Colorado Springs according to eBird.
