The eleven largest national wildlife refuges are also in Alaska, including Arctic NWR and Yukon Delta NWR , each more than 19 million acres.

My mother, mother-in-law, and godmother are all visiting right now. Jochen the swallows have arrived at NYC at Jamaica Bay National Wildlife Refuge too. Fish & Wildlife comes in response to a lawsuit brought by the Center for Biological Diversity. On my side of the Equator, the future is growing a whole lot brighter.

Apparently in the past some birders and photographers had been not so polite in their behavior when a Northern Hawk Owl had been in the vicinity, and when this bird showed up the local law enforcement did not want it made public. Not long ago, I posted a list of the 25 best National Wildlife Refuges for birding. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) has published a list of NWRs that have been created or expanded with Duck Stamp funds. Bear River MBR (Utah): 36.9%. How important are 10,000 or 100,000 or even 1,000,000 acres and where are those acres anyhow?
