There's a vague sense that perhaps he cares about the dogs or thinks that what he does to them might present an ethical dilemma, but the overwhelming feeling is that it's all worth it. The tiresome Hitler was a well-known vegetarian comment is included in this segment, but I found it irksome long before that. But not shocked enough.

Not only are they killed in cruel ways, but it is well documented that they are raised in ways that cause them great discomfort and agony. So, if one wants to change the present practice, the best means is to stop eating meat.

In his fresh and candid first post (available here ), Jonathan admitted that he is struggling with the issue of ethical vegetarianism. He clearly thinks that it is wrong to cause animals to suffer unnecessarily, but he appears to be somewhat ambivalent about killing animals (provided the killing is carried out humanely).
