Tigers are an underrated big cat. But tigers get no respect. Tigers are ambush predators, and clearly, they’re very good at it. Like I said, tigers get no respect. They don’t have to be ambush, precision hunters because there’s multiple of them. Tigers are solitary hunters. There, I said it.

The forests are home to Kalij Pheasants , Crested Tree Swifts , Ashy Wood Swallows , owlets, woodpeckers, spider hunters, barbets and bulbuls, laughingthrushes and hornbills. Kaziranga has one of the densest populations of Bengal Tiger in India. The forests are also home to Asiatic Elephants and Capped Langur Monkeys.

Originally a hunting term, the Big Five were the most dangerous and prized targets of the great white hunters on safari. They are one of the four existing species in the genus Panthera , and with males weighing in at up to 550lbs are second in size only to Tigers.

The topic was the concept of humans as predators, or hunters, or really, eaters of meat, and I was discussing the many ways in which people misconceived this notion. Here’s the thing: I personally never believed it, not even for one second. I did do some research on this topic, working with others.

Barn Swallows are a bit unhappy with their image as restless aerial hunters and would like to gain a more stately and dignified profile. In Singapore, a Tiger Shrike was observed casting a pellet after eating a large scarab beetle. The rather drab-looking female can only look colorful by grabbing some colorful insects.

As she continued her monologue about these cats, the Wildcat cautiously walked in our direction, never taking its eyes off of us, stiff-legged, ears motionless, striped like a standard “tiger” domestic cat but entirely in grays. He also had tigers, cougars, and some other animals. That was one of his cats.
