The Storks of Africa

Storks are typically viewed as wetland species and whilst some storks are restricted to aquatic habitats, others are not. This is another wetland species that nests in sometimes huge colonies atop trees bordering rivers and lakes.

Birding the Kruger Park (1): Skukuza area

There are quite a few raptor species around Skukuza. Most likely, the devil, not god created this species. While some bustards are the largest bird species capable of flight, the Black-bellied Bustard is only mid-sized. Skukuza is the largest camp and the administrative center of Kruger Park. It is also documented on video.

Python Caves and the Very Dangerous Bats

You’ll also remember that the caves are also one of the destinations I took my parents to when we toured Uganda. This means it has different species, and adds to the biological diversity of the park. Bats, it seems, are the reservoir of many zoonoses that cause humans, and other creatures, so many issues.
