I had never heard of the use of ferrets in medical research though. A national physicians group has filed a federal complaint against the University of Washington, saying its use of ferrets to train medical residents in emergency procedures on babies and children violates a federal animal-welfare law. So, I belong to this book group of 5 to 7 women. I've been with the group for a while and it's not bad. There is one member of this group who works for a pharmaceutical company. She supports medical research on animals. One scene has the author entering the part of the hospital where the research animals are.
