Yesterday I received an e-mail alert from the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida (ARFF) regarding " a coin operated game that uses live lobsters at the Royal Palm Ale House in Royal Palm Beach. In this game, the object is to pluck live lobsters out of the water with a joystick-controlled crane." What do you think of this campaign?

The three young men returned to their friends, bragged about their exploits, and showed them trophies: metal banding tags, which members of the Pacific Rim Conservation had carefully placed on the albatrosses’ legs in order to keep track of individual birds. The young men had severed the birds’ legs in order to remove the tags.

PETA has launched a spoof site for the Vancouver Olympic Games over seal hunting. I hate the seal slaughter. Tags: PETA. I criticize PETA a lot, but in this case I think they are right on the money. I think it's barbaric and should be ended. Slavery used to be a tradition in some societies. Seal hunting is just plain wrong.

Two-thirds believe that nonhumans have as much "right to live free of suffering" as humans, but vivisection, food-industry enslavement and slaughter, and other practices that cause severe, prolonged suffering are legal (49). Whereas those arguments maintain that grain-eating animals should not be slaughtered, this argument is at least consistent with the position that they should be: grain-eating animals, it might be maintained by a new moral vegetarian, should be slaughtered to prevent them from eating more grain and producing new grain-eating offspring.

That’s what you do with other game, right? It is a very interesting read, and as I stated in the post I wrote on my blog , part of the team that wrote the plan is the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, one of the states proposing a Sandhill Crane slaughter. Why not just shoot the biggest one? It has not.
