The Bearded Vulture looks surprisingly like the Night King in “Game of Thrones” Probably not a coincidence. Given that it is hard to mention one of my favorite bands, the Mountain Goats, in a birding blog, these photos of blue sheep are probably the best opportunity I will ever get. A juvenile nearby. Blue Sheep.

Even Desi had to stop playing stick games and pay attention, however, when two curious juvenile Gray Jays came flying quietly in to make sure we weren’t up to no good ( Gray Jays have a monopoly on being up to no good in the mountains).

Of course, there were plenty of big game around, and so I will post a few of those shots at the end of this posting. The Rocky Mountain Goats were the same thing, saw them, got a shot, but from 800 yards away, it really isn’t much to write home about. You know, the Bison, Elk, Bears and Wolves.
