You need to get it to a wildlife rehabilitation center. Domestic animal shelters don’t normally take wildlife and if they do it’s rare. I recommend Fox Valley. It is a delicate process to save a rabbit but very rewarding. It’s just not their function and against a few rules. I would rather educate.

The process took eight years and has since been duplicated all over the world with a variety of species, explained one of our guides … the genial and informative Dr. Kress himself. As a wildlife rehabilitator, I am used to dealing with the (sometimes) well-meaning but uninformed public, who ask questions like “Do birds have bones?”
