By Wednesday I was thinking about the odds of the bird both sticking through the end of the day on Friday and Daisy agreeing to me taking the entire day before Mothers Day to twitch a bird that I saw last week in Florida.

Remotest Endemic Birds

In other words what are the chances of one of these extremely remote species showing up in a less remote place – like my backyard in Lake Worth, Florida? The Heard and Mcdonald Islands are also extremely remote and Clements lists the Heard Island Shag as a full species, although Sibley/Monroe lists it as a subspecies of Imperial Shag.
