RECENT BIRDING AT COORAN, SUNSHINE COAST

Surrounded by farm land but with a reasonable well vegetated creek running through, the town looked pretty limited in terms of birding potential. A crop of Eucalypt trees had been planted and clearly coppiced, apparently to feed recovering koalas from Steve Irwin’s [he of Crocodile Hunter fame] family’s zoo and wildlife hospital.

Fish Creek to Buffalo

Agapanthus are in full flower everywhere at the moment and line farm drive-ways and parts of the trail. There was a Koala doing…nothing! Koala doing…nothing! The Koala then had an itch, so there was a little bit of action! Approaching Fish Creek from Fish Creek! They have perfected doing very little!
