It was an exciting experience, though a remarkably chilly one, as winters in Castile and León can be very cold. Otters may be widespread in Europe, but they are usually elusive and difficult to see. Why the weasel should be the head of the family doesn’t really make sense. Why not the stoat family or the badger family?)

Besides the birds, the teams were distracted by half a dozen primate species and rare Giant River Otters.
