And, I’ve passed through the Ancient Egypt exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum, where the Ibis is featured on pottery fragments, many times. It’s relatively easy to classify birds into family groups based on physical characteristics. I was surprised at how much and how little cultural significance different bird families hold for us.
