RECENT BIRDING AT COORAN, SUNSHINE COAST

A crop of Eucalypt trees had been planted and clearly coppiced, apparently to feed recovering koalas from Steve Irwin’s [he of Crocodile Hunter fame] family’s zoo and wildlife hospital. A huge Wedge-tailed Eagle soared high overhead on thermals suggesting that the morning was beginning to wane and our drinks were waiting.

Fish Creek to Buffalo

Continuing along the rail trail I soon add a Wedge-tailed Eagle , Spotted Dove , Striated Thornbills , Varied Sittellas , Eastern Spinebill and Grey Shrike-thrush. There was a Koala doing…nothing! Koala doing…nothing! The Koala then had an itch, so there was a little bit of action! Wedge-tailed Eagle.
