Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve: the Tiger Afternoon

The closer one raises her head, than lies back. The Little Egret walks in front of her, a dozen Lesser Whistling Ducks flies noisily low above water and through a flooded grass wades one Black-winged Stilt. Telia yawns, raises and sprays her urine on a dead tree stump, marking her territory. These are my first wild tigers ever!

A curious Laysan Duck takes a stroll at Midway Atoll. Laysan Ducks don’t seem to be as tied to water as other ducks, which makes sense considering the limited habitat available. Although Laysan Duck is a Hawaiian bird, most birders have never heard of it. That would have been awful. home at Midway Atoll.
