The two best ways to find it when visiting Costa Rica are: taking a trip to Cocos Island, and watching pelagic seabird flocks associated with tuna and dolphins. However, we can’t go wrong in protecting habitat at and near the place where the one specimen was taken; a site on Miravalles Volcano. Blue-vented Hummingbird.

The King Shag has a small population breeding on four protected islands in the Sounds and a small number regularly roost on on Blumine Island (and have even been nesting recently, perhaps successfully), and sure enough they were there and we were able to admire them. A Bellbird singing.
