Did you know that May 16-22 is National Dog Bit Prevention Week? They are working hard to help spread that word about how to prevent dog bites. Here are the tips and stats that they sent us: Nearly 2,900 letter carriers were bitten by dogs last year, yet that pales in comparison to the 4.7 Don’t run past a dog.

It started with donation requests for spay and neutering cats but then quickly transferred to a trap, neuter and release organization. I have a dog, cats (domestic and feral), birds raccoons, hawks, owls, coyotes, foxes, bunnies and mice…they all share the yard and the woods. I have mixed feelings about TNR.

Owen County Friends of Animals (KY) is a non-profit organization that fosters and seeks adoptions for the dogs picked up by their local dog warden. Dogs they can not place in foster care or find adoptive homes for are euthanized after 14 days by county ordinance. Their shelter is full. Here 's the page about him.

Nearly 600 cats and dogs looking for permanent homes during major pet adoption event June 25 – 26. Adoption fees are being waived for this event, and adoptable animals will be spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated, and provided an ID tag free of charge.
