Joseph Kinnarney is this year’s recipient of The AVMA Award, which he accepted during the keynote at AVMA Convention 2023 in Denver. Among his accomplishments, his service to both the American Veterinary Medical Foundation and the AVMA Trusts helped both entities evolve into the vital, relevant entities they are today.

Then there is Denver. Venues for birding are on the short list, but where the immediate Denver locale comes short in numbers of sites, we make up for in quality of birding. Southeast Denver and Aurora host Cherry Creek State Park. He moved from Delaware to Colorado and then like a week later this bird shows up in Denver.

Both Puerto Rico and the USVI have active birding communities that are currently excluded from full membership in the ABA family. All Americans Should be Full Members of the ABA Family. Adding Puerto Rico and the USVI would largely achieve the goal of bringing all Americans into full membership of the ABA family.

The best of the book is in the more focused later sections, where each avian family is rigorously cross-referenced with every place in the Bible where it is mentioned. Whether you find this charming or unbearably frustrating is largely a matter of taste. In short, what we have here is a minor, eccentric, but unique work.
