That leaves us with animal welfare, which I do think we are genuinely interested in, mostly because of the myriad videos, documentaries, books and websites that have made it tough to avoid over the past few years. I wrote often about such farmer/authors and found their rationalizations quite creepy. That's respect.

For some people, it is inhumane to eat meat in any situation, no matter how well the animal is treated prior to and during slaughter. In my opinion, and I am a vegetarian, the second definition of humane is the MINIMAL that we should expect. Tags: farm animal welfare factory farm agribusiness.
