Man Convicted of Illegally Trafficking Live Deer

He was transporting them across state lines from Ohio to a hunting preserve in South Carolina. The deer were not tested for disease. The deer still got screwed because they ended up at the hunting preserve, but any kind of sentence for wildlife trafficking must be enforced. He was sentenced to 21 months in prison.

Lucky deer! Workers at an Ohio pet shop are used to worried pet owners bringing their animals in to be treated in the store's clinic. But an unaccompanied visit Saturday by a deer to the PetSmart in Rossfield was a first for the store. Tags: wildlife deer. She was treated and then released.
