Six members of Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty were convicted at a 2006 trial in New Jersey of conspiracy to violate the 1992 Animal Enterprise Protection Act. The others are the University of Michigan and University of Louisiana/New Iberia. sponsored by SAEN {Stop Animal Exploitation Now}, an Ohio-based animal research watchdog group.

But within the last year, an animal cruelty investigation almost shut one down because spikes were being used to antagonize the bull. As I have suggested above, vegetarianism may have a protest or symbolic function. It might be suggested that although becoming a vegetarian as a protest against animal suffering or a way of committing oneself to helping the hungry people of the world is not a moral duty, it is still a moral act; it is a supererogatory act.
