Preparing for the Onslaught

My husband has two friends (a male/female couple) who are transitioning from vegetarian to vegan and I also have two friends (both women) who are transitioning from omnivore and all are dreading Thanksgiving. So I might say, "I fail to find humor in the enslavement, rape, torture and slaughter of anyone. Not humans, not animals."

An Affront to the Idea of Family

That doesn't mean that 99% of dairy products are from family farms , as the average number of cows on each family farm is just over 100. Families, so the commercials go, don't engage in untoward aspects of animal husbandry that might hurt the cows. The cows' tails swing in the breeze.

On "The Wild"

The problem with that statement is it's not as if farmers are searching "the wild" for cows, pigs, chicken and fish, plucking them from their homes, and plopping them on a farm to live out their (shortened) lives prior to slaughter.
