Environmental groups have called on Obama to get rid of the USDA's Dept. of Wildlife Services , which is involved in mainly predator control programs (coyotes are a big target). Fish and Wildlife Service biologist and killed his dog. Ranchers oppose the move.

They like to fly in pairs or groups and in the evening they come together in big groups to roost in a favorite ‘dormitory’ tree. Illegal capture for the wild animal trade is an obvious peril for such a charismatic species, but this big blue bird is also hunted both for its meat and feathers.

They were still listed as Endangered, but wildlife management measures taken in this park were clearly working. We are entering the mixed colony of 11 species ( Grey , Squacco , Purple and Black-crowned Night Herons ; Great , Little and, recently, Cattle Egrets ; Eurasian Spoonbill (below) and Glossy Ibis ; Pygmy and Great Cormorant ).
