But what do I know about the taste preferences of Cattle Egrets. Insects seem to also be the main food item of Brown Shrikes , as this video also shows.

Common Myna , a fairly recent introduction, is practically a specialist in dumpster diving at fast food joints, roosting under vehicles near shopping malls, and nesting in neon store signs. The charismatic Monk Parakeet is usually found near strip malls, feeding in both native and exotic trees.

The lush pastures of the Aripo Livestock Station sustained herds of happy Buffalypso , a special breed of T&T beef cattle named for their Water Buffalo heritage and Calypso-happy country. And unlike a cheap meal at a fast food joint, this banquet of birds remained satisfying long after we left! In fact, it was.

And could we just do a quick drive through at a fast food joint? We had to eat some wonderfully prepared Lebanese food including some outstanding hummus. Sadly, he couldn’t (or wouldn’t) so I had to content myself with just Burrowing Owls , Monk Parakeets , Loggerhead Shrikes , and Cattle Egrets.
