Pasir Ris Park-Singapore

We started our Singapore bird list at Pasir Ris and leaving the train station we were delighted to see several Cattle Egrets on the grass and several photographers. There is a massive nest at the top of a tower beside the Sports Centre and a family of Monk Parakeets have taken up residence. Common Sandpiper. Monk Parakeet.

Cockatoo Creek

We have observed huge flocks of Galahs there on previous visits and other times there are more bird species, but only one or two of each species. Walking out onto the bridge we soon observed a good mixture of other bird species. Brolga had come into drink and there were all three species of Ibis present. Cattle Egret.

Wolfe Creek Crater birding

This is cattle country and it is actually fenced, which many parts of the Kimberley are not and you pass through Ruby Plains and then Carranya station to reach the crater. I am uncertain of the exact species of dragon that we commonly found on the rim. Heading around the rim. Dragon on the rim. Grevillea refracta.

Birding the Dampier Downs Road

Whenever you encounter one bird species near the edge of the track it is worth stopping, because invariably there are several species in the vicinity. Grey-crowned Babblers are usually in family groups of eight and are easily heard as you travel along the track. Two distant Pied Honeyeaters. Velliia panduriformis.
