Yet More Good News for Project Treadstone

I received a call yesterday from a woman who started a coalition for homeless cats. She said her Trapper Man could go to the Project Treadstone site--last night and this morning--and trap up to 10 cats that she would bring to Pahokee. She has brought over a dozen cats there in just two weeks, 11 of whom were pregnant.

Powder Puff, RIP, and More

You may recall that when I took him to the vet (and at that time I thought he was a she) I asked them to check him out and they said he looked fine. This week we are going to try to trap four cats for fixing, vaccinating, ear-tipping and microchipping on Friday. cats, many of whom are pregnant. He didn't look at all comfortable.

The vet did give me a hard time about the dogs' animal-free diets (my traditional vets don't, ironically), and my response was that unless she could show me some research that his particular type of injury needs animal protein to heal, I wasn't going to change anything. been there.

For these reasons, my vet had no problem with me stockpiling Vetsulin. As many of you know, 2009 was chock full of creature-related drama for me.
