The SPCA does some amazing work on behalf of our animal friends all over the globe. Imagine being a soldier on the battlefield and finding comfort and friendship in a dog. Then imagine knowing that you will have to leave that dog behind, in awful conditions. We think this is an amazing mission!

they are sending professional photographer Nanette Martin to take pictures of shelter pets at the Virginia Beach SPCA. The Bowl by Bowl goal for October is to donate 12,500 bowls of food to shelter cats and dogs. This is Los Angeles’s premier animal-related fundraising event benefiting the following non-profit rescue organizations: The Rescue Train, Best Friends Animal Society, Animal Alliance, A Dog’s Life Rescue, Stray Cat Alliance, Four-Legged Friends Foundation, and Molly’s Mutts & Meows. This means less dogs and cats can be saved.

The tree is decorated with paper ornaments featuring photos and information about dogs and cats waiting for forever homes, along with a wish list of supplies, toys and treats needed to care for them. There are 42 Best Friends Pet Care centers, and all of them have an Angel Tree in the lobby.
