We were surprised to observe Zebra Finch , because there did not appear to be any water, but they could have been accessing water on the station and coming to the crater for food. It is of course the food of the Night Parrot , but none were observed on this occasion! Camel bush. Heading around the rim. The rim trail.

Whenever you encounter one bird species near the edge of the track it is worth stopping, because invariably there are several species in the vicinity. Crested Pigeons and Diamond Doves flew across the track in search of water and there were also Zebra Finch and Long-tailed Finch. Two distant Pied Honeyeaters.
