The Uncommon Demise of a Wood Thrush in Costa Rica

They don’t need to be professional bird killers either, predators only need to be in the right place at the right time. Migrant birds make an incredibly perilous journey, twice per year.

Shearwater Chase in Costa Rica

Petrel Paradise

In particular the South Island destination of Kaikoura is world-renowned for the flocks of albatrosses and giant petrels floating right off the pelagic boat, and the ease of the trip makes it a must-visit for any visiting birder.
