The Case for Adding the U.S. Territories in the Caribbean to the ABA Area

There are arguments for adding all territories, but experience demonstrates that the ABA moves glacially when it comes to the ABA Area. Although most conservation research focuses on northern breeding grounds, many ABA Area birds spend most of the year elsewhere.

Hybrid Teals

Mallards , of course, bring new meaning to the term dabbling duck , what with all those wild mallard hybrids and domestic cross-breeds running around. In my experience, Cinnamon Teal x Common or Green-winged Teal hybrids are the rarest; I have seen pictures of only 2 such birds and a 3rd bird (the one mentioned above) in life.
