Mrs Pankhurst’s Purple Feather–A Book Review

As a librarian and women’s studies scholar, I greatly appreciate the research. Preferably, they should be wearing colors of purple, white, and gold, the branded hues of their movement. This is where Boase excels. I did often wonder while reading the book whether the result equaled the effort.

There are page references to and from the Species Accounts maps, which makes research transparently easy. Looks exactly the same at first until you notice brand-new images of the kite in flight. The wonder of research? And, subspecies are also treated visually and often in the text of the Main Species accounts.
