On her return, she was able to bundle up and bring with her, a brand new Nikon lens. One of the huge thrills I got was to watch a Peregrine Falcon sweep thru the tidal area, spooking one of the large flocks of sandpipers, and then flash back thru the flock and grab breakfast. There were plenty of peeps for me to focus on.

A quick check of the Collins 2 (I think American birders know this book as the “Birds of Europe”, but here, some branding mastermind has interconnected the company’s name and the book title) revealed that we are facing two Siberian Greylag Geese (race rubrirostris ). Scan of the ridge reveals a distant but definitive Peregrine Falcon.
